About Paula
As a landscape painter, I find serenity creating my works ‘en plein air’ within the beautiful parks and preserves throughout Chester, Montgomery and Delaware Counties. I strive to capture the calm and tranquility of familiar locations such as:
Stroud Preserve, Cheslen Preserve, Bondsvill Mill, Hibernia, French Creek, Springton Manor, Kerr Park, Nockamixon, Newlin Grist Mill, Marshall Square, and beyond.
When weather is not on my side, you can find me in my home studio exploring still life, a new direction in my work. I have recently found a passion in the distinctive character and flowing form shared by both orchids and unique shells, while my various floral works present new possibilities to explore color, texture, and composition.

My preferred medium is open (slow drying) acrylics and I favor small-format paintings ranging from miniatures to 11 x 14. Although my work is often described as impressionistic, my style is best understood as an organic expression of my state of mind while creating.
Away from my studio, I enjoy teaching art classes for patients and caregivers at the VA Hospital in Coatesville, as well as volunteering to help with art related activities and events.
